About
DuMarkus Davis is the Founder of Musicbuk, a music technology company that develops business management software for artists and music organizations. DuMarkus has raised over $2M in capital to support this venture and is 1 of less than 500 African Americans ever to raise more than $1M in venture capital. DuMarkus is a classically trained violinist and a San Francisco Conservatory of Music graduate. During his tenure, DuMarkus served as student body chairman, the first African American student to hold the position, liaison to the San Francisco Symphony Board, and was integral to creating The Emerging Black Composers Project and scholarships earmarked for African American students.
DuMarkus has been a guest lecturer at Stanford University and adjunct faculty at Morehouse College. He has won multiple pitch competitions including the Revolt Summit Pitch competition, and he received funding from the inaugural Google for Startups Black Founders Fund. DuMarkus performed in National Geographic's Emmy Award Winning series Genius: Aretha Franklin, at the Beyoncé Bowl Halftime Show on Netflix, and in the 2023 release of The Color Purple.
DuMarkus is a Class of 2013 Gates Millennium Scholar and a Class of 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 Honoree.
